U of M Lambuth hosts job fair for veterans

WEST JACKSON — The University of Memphis Lambuth Campus participated Thursday in a statewide event for veterans. Veterans participated in Paychecks for Patriots, a job fair held every year. The event helps veterans find jobs in the West Tennessee area. The fair featured multiple employers from all over Jackson seeking help from veterans. “We got a great opportunity going here,” said State Rep. Jimmy Eldridge. “You’re a patriot, you served our country well, so this is a place to come interact and meet great employers of West Tennessee.” This event is part of Governor Bill Haslam’s plan to encourage companies to hire veterans for their skills gained in the military.
