NORTH JACKSON — Cloudy skies, rainy weather and soggy fields did not stop kids from coming out Friday and enjoying Child Health Day at Liberty Garden Park. Kids got to enjoy a fun-filled morning playing games, getting their faces painted and dressing up for a photo booth. Kids also got their blood moving with a hula hoop and took a walk on the winding trail through the park. “We’ve gotta get the kids out of the house, so it doesn’t matter if it’s raining as it is right now or if it’s a hot day, we’ve gotta get them out and moving as much as possible,” said Nicole Hancock, a dietitian with Lift Wellness Center. In efforts to focus on the health and well-being of children, many similar events happened Friday all over the state, promoting the idea “a healthy Tennessee begins with a healthy me.”
