SOUTH JACKSON — Jackson nurse practitioner John Michael Briley voluntarily surrendered his state nursing license last Friday, according to the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Briley was licensed as an advanced nurse practitioner at Primary Care Specialists South on South Highland Avenue. According to the investigation, Briley called in numerous prescriptions for the drug Zutripro, which contains a combination of hydrocodone and pseudoephedrine. Briley was not required to admit guilt, but did however agree to surrender the license. According to the state filing, members of his staff and family staged an intervention in April about his use of prescription drugs in other people’s names.
