JACKSON, Tenn.- With cold temperatures comes the start of the emergency shelter program for homeless people in our area. Beginning November 1, Area Relief Ministries will begin its eighth season of the winter program called “Room in the Inn.” It is a partnership between ARM and the local churches. The congregations host homeless men in their facilities overnight while providing dinner and fellowship. “We try to have a least two churches a night and some nights we don’t have that means there’s going to be limited space, so we need more churches to partnership with us in order to give more people shelter,” said Fred McKinnie, director of “Room at the Inn”. The men who participate in the program line up at the ARM offices at 5 p.m. every day. If your congregation would like to participate visit the “Seen on 7” section.
