Hundreds gather for 9th annual Celtic Fest

PARKERS CROSSROADS, Tenn. — Hundreds came together to celebrate and learn about Celtic heritage this weekend. The 9th annual Celtic Fest ran Saturday and Sunday For attendees who brought a nonperishable food item a dollar was taken off their admission. All donations will go to RIFA and organizers said they hope to top last year’s collection of 300 lbs. of food. Guests enjoyed live music, Celtic reenactments, Celtic and American food and an assortment of shopping vendors. Organizers said vendors came from around the mid-south and as far as Virginia. “Every year is getting better this is the best one in a while. We’ve got more vendors here today than I believe we ever had in Jackson,” Celtic Society of West Tennessee secretary Sue Bates said. Bates said this is the Celtic Society’s biggest event and will start planning for next year’s fest on Monday.
