Jackson civic clubs honor area veterans
JACKSON, Tenn. — On the eve of Veterans Day, two of Jackson’s public service clubs honored those who had served our country. The annual event is hosted by Jackson’s Old Hickory Rotary Club and the downtown Lions Clubs. Past and present military members were honored with a special tribute given to prisoners of war and those still missing in action. Lieutenant General John Castellaw, a retired United States Marine Corps member, served as keynote speaker. “So few are willing to put their lives on the line, so few are willing to shed their blood, so what we need to do is to make sure that we recognize those that have done that,” Castellaw said. Miss Tennessee Haylee Lewis also attended to sing the National Anthem.
