Local salon gives free haircuts for veterans

NORTH JACKSON — Military members stopped by the Great Clips salon in North Jackson throughout the day Tuesday and were welcomed with free haircuts. Great Clips hair salons across the country honored veterans Tuesday with the free service. “If it wasn’t for them getting out here and doing what they do every day and protecting our country from all the bad that’s out there, we wouldn’t be here,” Great Clips manager Janice Hickman said. Veterans must present a military ID to qualify for the free service. Veterans who do not need a haircut right now also can stop by to get a certificate for a free haircut before the end of the year.
