Jackson police to conduct sobriety checkpoints this week

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson police will be cracking down on impaired driving with extra sobriety checkpoints around town this week, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department. During the checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement, officers will focus on removing impaired drivers from the roadways. However, non-compliance with safety belt and child restraint laws will be vigorously enforced as well, according to the release. The project is funded solely by the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
