A West Madison County home seems to be unaffected by the weeks storms but a quick walk to the backyard, and you will find a tree being held up by the roof of the two-story home. “West Tennessee Restoration came out to assess the damage when they came out they hired tree cutters to come out and cut the tree out the house,” said home owner Kimberly Morales. Morales lives in the home with her husband and four children. Now they are living in a hotel until they can clean up some of the damage. Only a few hours into the project the tree cutters are packing up and moving out. “They were cutting small pieces getting them off or maybe a light limb not like they were doing anything dangerous.” That is until the routine project became life-threatening for the tree cutters. “I guess that’s what was holding that entire piece on because when he cut it, when he made that cut, it just fall right off the roof, and brung him with it, and as the log rolled off it ripped his leg open,” recalled Morales. Morales said she is thankful because she knows this accident could have taken the victim’s life. “That he was going to die, honestly, thought he was going to die, thought that log was going to pull him off.”
