Parts Of TN Declared Disaster
The White House has declared four Tennessee counties federal disaster areas after storms that struck last week.
A statement from the administration on Monday stated that President Barack Obama has ordered that individuals in Bradley, Greene, Hamilton and Washington counties are eligible for federal funding. The aid can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help people and businesses recover from the effects of the storms that hit on Wednesday night and Thursday.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency continues to survey damage and may recommend that other areas in the state also be designated for federal assistance.
