FEMA Payments Top One Million Dollar Mark
Tornado and storm recovery payouts in Tennessee from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and state total more than $1.7 million since May 1.
A statement Friday from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said 3,652 households have registered with FEMA for disaster assistance.
As of the close of business Wednesday, $1.4 million has been approved to help pay for rent and repairs to homes.
About $364,000 has been approved to help pay for disaster-related medical and dental expenses, funeral costs, lost personal property and loss of transportation.
More than 1,120 home inspections have been completed.
More than 1,300 people have visited the round-the-clock disaster recovery centers in the 10 counties designated for assistance.
Bradley, Hamilton, Greene, Washington, Bledsoe, Cocke, Johnson, McMinn, Monroe and Rhea are the designated counties.
