Some Counties Not Eligible for Flood Aid

Leaders with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency say federal funding may be available to flood and tornado victims, depending on what county you live in, and how much of your property was damaged. Officials say there are three active presidential disaster declarations in West Tennessee. Depending on what type of property you own, and what has been approved, will determine if you can get assistance. Some farmland along the Tennessee River may qualify for help, but that declaration must come from the Department Of Agriculture. Here are some resources: If you are a farm owner, call the TN Office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, at: 615-277-2600 and ask for information on disaster relief. For homeowners, and non-farm owners, call FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) at 1-800-621-3362
