Two Jackson BancorpSouth Branches to Close

Two Jackson locations are among 23 BancorpSouth branches that will close as part of a steam lining plan by the multi-state bank. The Madison Park branch on Dr. F.E. Wright Drive and the Andrew Jackson Place branch at 2076 North Highland will be shuttered. BancorpSouth says neither are generating enough traffic to stay open. Officials with the Tupelo, Mississippi-based bank also say there are other bank branches near the ones that are closing. There is no word yet on whether employees will be let go. A timetable for when the branches will close will be announced in August.
