Gas Station Owner Hurt In Drive Off

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two men accused of dragging a gas station owner as they drove off without paying for fuel.

The sheriff’s office had circulated a photo of the dark blue pickup truck the men were driving when the incident occurred on May 12. Officers arrested 20-year-old Jesse Kidd and 21-year-old Matthew Mayo on Tuesday after finding them hiding in a friend’s mobile home, according to The Paducah Sun.

Kidd is charged with first-degree robbery and Mayo with theft under $500. McCracken County Regional Jail records don’t show whether they have attorneys.

The station owner told deputies he was leaning in the driver’s window when Kidd took off and was dragged about 200 feet, falling off in front of an oncoming car, but he escaped being hit.
