A group of Obion County students is helping their library share the joy of reading for generations to come. The Obion County Public Library teen advisory group were the winners of this year’s state “You Are Here” Teen Video Challenge. The group of students from Obion Central , Union City and South Fulton and area home schools competed in the competition. As a prize, the students received $350, which they donated to the Obion County Public Library. “We did this for the library we started the team to help out around the library,” said Brandon Fleenor, the project’s leader. “We did the video to help get the library known and we figured, you know, it wouldn’t be right for us to just take the money, pocket it and walk out and do whatever. “We decided the money needed to go back to the library since we get to do all this fun stuff here, you know.” Teen representing libraries in 20 states also participated in the year’s inaugural competition.
