A Jackson woman is free on $10,000 bond after being charged with coercing a young child to lie to police in a rape case. Jennifer Womble, 39, was officially charged Wednesday morning in Jackson City Court. Police said Womble tried to persuade the child to tell investigators she lied when she told them last week that Jonathon Henderson, 39, of Jackson, raped her. Henderson was officially charged earlier this week with two counts of rape of a child. The juvenile said Womble persuaded her to tell police and the Department of Children’s Services that she was not truthful about the allegation. However, the child maintained her original statements during her private interview. Womble has been ordered to stay away from the child.
