Jackson Crews Cleaning Annexed Area
Thursday, Jackson city leaders welcomed newly annexed residents to the city limits with open arms. ABC 7 Eyewitness News caught up with crews along John Smith Road as they removed tree limbs and debris. Much of the debris picked up was from last month’s storms, which is just one of many new services offered to its residents. Crew members said it is a service they are happy to provide the area. “It’s part of our job,” said Scott Terry, with the City of Jackson. “You know it’s just what we gotta do to keep everybody happy and save you know we gotta get the roads cleared to keep cars from running off or hitting a limb or something.” Officials said once all of the storm debris is cleared, they will begin addressing other issues including potholes, street cleaning, right-of-way grass cutting and street signs.
