Wildlife Returns to Trenton Furniture Store
Anderson’s Furniture, a family owned business, has seen its share of customers since opening in 1952. Current owner, Jimmy Anderson, said he has seen it all or so he thought. “I just could not believe that it happened again,” said Anderson. Nearly one month before, a wild turkey broke through one of the windows at Anderson’s Furniture Center. However, earlier this week an adult deer decided to some ‘window shopping’ at Anderson’s Furniture Floor & Covering and broke through another window. Anderson said Trenton police officers noticed the broken window while driving by and went in to check it out. “They were scared to death too. They came in the door and wondered what had happened, saw blood all over the place. Then the deer jumps up and runs in the bathroom,” Anderson said. Although Anderson said his insurance will cover most of the cost to fix the damage, he has had to cough up $2,000 to replace two windows, leaving the window repairmen speechless. “They just could not believe that it had happened the second time. They could not believe the turkey the first time. They told me, ‘You need to stop drinking that Wild Turkey juice in the morning,'” said Anderson. Anderson said the deer was put down and processed once animal control officers got it out of the store, however it is a story he said he will never get tired of telling. “You know, if a circus comes to town I am going to board up my windows,” Anderson said.
