Blues Fest Begins Friday
The sound of the blues and the aroma of Bar-B-Q will fill the air over downtown Jackson, this weekend as the 20th Annual Shannon Street Blues and Heritage Festival kicks off, Friday. Thursday, preparations began at the festival’s new location along Main Street between Jackson City Hall and the Madison County Courthouse. Live music begins Friday afternoon with festivities scheduled until late Saturday night. “You get to visit with your friends and neighbors that maybe you have not seen in awhile, you get to spend that quality time, said Katie Pace of Jackson Downtown Development Corporation. “For me I get to introduce my children to some legendary music that they probably wouldn’t otherwise get the opportunity to see, as well as some local talents.” The gates open at 5, Friday afternoon. Admission is $20. ABC 7 Eyewitness News will be live from Blues Fest Friday at 5 and 6 p.m.
