Iraqi Insurgents Arrested In Western Kentucky

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul has scheduled a news conference for Friday to talk about an FBI investigation that led to the arrest of two Iraqi refugees living in his hometown of Bowling Green.

Thirty-year-old Waad Ramadan Alwan and 23-year-old Mohanad Shareef Hammadi were charged last week with plotting to send explosives, guns and missiles to Iraqi insurgents. Neither is charged with plotting to launch attacks inside the United States, and authorities said their weapons and money didn’t make it to Iraq.
