Man Opens Fire On Train
Claiborne County officials say a man who was upset that his friend was struck and killed by a train fired gunshots into one.
Mark Anthony Bruce is due in court Tuesday to answer to an aggravated assault charge, according to The Knoxville News Sentinel.
The 47-year-old Bruce was arrested June 3, a day after a Norfolk Southern train crew, performing a routine safety check on a stopped train, told police Bruce said a train killed his friend and then pumped about five shots into their train. No one was hurt. Investigators found an AK-47 rifle in Bruce’s home.
Timothy Miracle of Harrogate, who was deaf and mute, was struck on the tracks and killed May 29.
