Miss Tennessee Contestants Visit Exchange Club
As is tradition during the Miss Tennessee scholarship pageant week, contestants made a stop at a Jackson civic club’s luncheon. The 36 young women vying for the crown of Miss Tennessee had lunch with members of the Jackson Exchange Club at the Doubletree Hotel in north Jackson. Contestants introduced themselves an then sat down for a meal with club members, who said the program is one they always anticipate. The reigning Miss Tennessee said representing the state is a very important job. “The job of Miss Tennessee is about service and it will be the best year of the next winner’s life if they love to serve, said Nicole Jordan, Miss Tennessee 2010. f they don’t love to serve it is going to be really difficult because you take away from your home, personal and social lives and you really do exactly that, you serve the state of Tennessee.” Miss Tennessee contestants from across the Volunteer State hit the stage, Monday and Tuesday in preparation for four nights of competition, which start with preliminaries on Wednesday. Also Tuesday, the contestants competed in private interviews with the judges.
