Haslam Throws Out First Pitch
Tuesday night, there were two first pitches to open the Southern League All-Star Game. Well, there were actually three. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam took to the mound with thousands of eyes on him. The governor only has to get the ball just more than 60 feet over home plate, but on the first pitch, mission not accomplished. As a result the ball goes right, wide right, in fact and sends Jackson Generals’ Jake Shaffer scrambling into the mass of media. The governor could not go out like that, so he asked for one more chance, so he gets a do-over. This time, it goes much better on the second pitch for the right-handed Republican.
