Dollywood To Develop Braille Book
Blind and visually impaired children will benefit from a new effort between the Dollywood Foundation in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville.
The organizations have announced they will work together to provide Braille and audio versions of books for the foundation’s Imagination Library.
The library was founded in 1996 and works with local sponsors to provide books to children ages 5 and under in 1,300 communities.
During Dollywood’s annual KidsFest celebration, Dolly Parton and representatives from the printing house presented a Braille book to Cameron Burkett of McMinnville, Tenn. The organizations plan to select several book titles every year for reproduction in Braille and audio.
