Investigators with the Paris Police Department said robbers tend to attack the big banks, but on Wednesday morning, they targeted the Eastwood Street Branch of the Commercial Bank and Trust, when only two female tellers were at work. “The other teller was waiting on a customer at the drive through window and had her back turned,” said Sergeant Josh Frye of the Paris Police Department. Sgt. Frye said that is when the robber made his move. “According to the teller, a black male came in and handed her a note, demanding money and stating he had a gun,” added Sgt. Frye. Unable to get the attention of her occupied co-worker, the teller said she gave the robber every dollar in her cash drawer. The teller also said she was fearful of her life and does not know exactly how much cash she handed over. “The note stated he wanted all the money in the drawer and he had a gun, and if they would not give it to him he would shoot,” explained Sgt. Frye. Although the teller never saw a gun, she told officials she got a good glimpse of the robber. Police said they are looking for a slender black man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, possibly with long hair. They also said he was wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a red bandanna around his head. According to authorities, the suspect took off on foot and may have jumped into a four door Chevrolet Caprice, but that is all they know for now. Longtime customer Jeffrey Deanpage is giving the tellers a thumbs up. “A life is worth more than money,” said Deanpage. There was a camera in the bank, but no photo has been released at this time, due to what officials call an issue with equipment.
