UPDATE: Escaped Gibson Co. trusty is back in custody

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A Gibson county trusty who walked off from work detail Monday evening is back in custody, according to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department. Joshua Ballard was located at a residence in Trenton, according to officials. Sheriff Paul Thomas had previously said Ballard was last seen around 3:30 p.m. while working at the Humboldt Police Department. Ballard had been jailed at the Gibson County Correctional Complex on counts of evading arrest and driving on a revoked license.
