Restaurant owner robbed, nearly beaten to death
MIDDLETON, Tenn.– Southwind Family Restaurant employees and patrons say they are still in shock. Friends said the owner, who goes by Mike, was nearly beaten to death on his way home from his restaurant Friday night. “He told me everything he could remember. He said as soon as he killed the vehicle, he opened the door and someone started to hit him,” said Tommy Billions. Billions visited Mike in the hospital where he said he is still recovering from a severely fractured arm, a puncture to his leg and multiple head injuries. “It was just a fight for life, you know. The person just continued to beat him, then take a break and beat him some more,” Billions said. The Hardeman County Sheriffs Department said they are investigating an incident involving the owner of the restaurant. They said they will not release additional information until they interview the owner.
