JACKSON, Tenn. — Police are investigating the death of a Jackson woman found in her home Monday afternoon with a gunshot wound. Michelle Odeh, 43, was found by family members around 1:30 p.m. Monday in her home on Hanover Drive, according to the Jackson Police Department. “I think whenever some is shot. The immediate reaction is suicide. But you have to investigate it to find out what happened,” Captain Tyreece Miller said. Odeh had suffered a gunshot wound, and a handgun was recovered at the scene. Police say there was no sign of a break-in at the home. “We believe whoever set off the gun or shot the gun came from within the house. There were no signs of anyone coming into the house,” Miller said. Police have interviewed key witnesses and are not searching for anyone in connection with the case at this time. “We have to wait for the autopsy. That will tell us more about what happened and when it happened,” Miller said. Odeh’s body has been sent to Nashville for an autopsy.
