UT Martin announces new ‘Advantage’ scholarship

MARTIN, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee at Martin has announced a new plan to go along with Tennessee Promise legislation and highlight the advantages of four-year colleges. The UT Martin Advantage plan, announced this week, includes a new scholarship for students who enter the university their freshman year and continue to meet HOPE Scholarship requirements, according to a release from the school. Qualifying students will be eligible to begin receiving the scholarship their sophomore year starting with the fall 2015 semester. The initiative also includes a website to show prospective students the long-term advantages of attending a four-year university, according to the release.
