VFW honors its Teacher of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn. — Congratulations to a local teacher and veteran. David Conner was honored by VFW Post 1848 as the District Teacher of the Year. Conner has been the Junior ROTC instructor at South Side High School for 14 years. He said he is humbled that his students and other teachers nominated him for this award. “I am truly honored and blessed,” Conner said. “It was a surprise to me, and I hope I serve them well.” Conner received a plaque and $500 for winning the award.
