DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Two former drug addicts appeared before a judge Thursday — and received a round of applause. Celesta Sharp and Casey Sanders graduated from Jackson City Drug Court. The court was created more than ten years ago to offer addicts an opportunity to get clean and turn their lives around while avoiding serious jail time. “This program saved my life,” Sharp said. “I was to the point where I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know how to stop using, and entering this program really saved my life.” The two graduates add to a total of 113 graduates who have completed the program since it was created.
