NORTH JACKSON — A Jackson auto dealer raised one of the biggest American flags in West Tennessee on Thursday. The flag raising at Serra Chevrolet was held to honor veterans and active members in the military who are serving overseas. The owner said he hopes people drive by and see the flag and remember their sacrifices. “Sometimes we seem to forget when we are working every day, and you’re taking family, and you seem to forget there’s a war going on out and there is people fighting for our freedom, and I want them to be reminded of that,” Serra Chevrolet owner Sam Hamady said. Active National Guard members along with local politicians were in attendance for the flag raising.
