JACKSON, Tenn. — As election season draws closer, one candidate in the mayor’s race spent Friday hard at work, laying the way for their campaign. With the election just three months away, the campaign headquarters for Mayor Jerry Gist were off to a bustling start. Gist said he’s excited about what the next few months hold. “Now we are ready to go, ready to grow and continue to move our city forward, and we plan on doing that,” Gist said. The other four candidates in the mayor’s race, Lowe Finney, Dr. James Baxter, Charlie Moten and Tim York have not announced their kickoff plans. The mayoral election is May 5.
