Stove fire damages home in east Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — A house in east Jackson was severely damaged Monday afternoon, and firefighters say a stove fire is to blame. Officials said the woman inside the house said she walked away from a pot on the stove then heard the smoke alarm. She said when she returned to the kitchen flames were shooting from the stove. Crews estimate 25 percent of the home was damaged and is now uninhabitable. No injuries were reported.
