Deadline approaching to sign up for Affordable Care Act
JACKSON, Tenn. — The deadline is approaching to sign up for health care under the Affordable Care Act. Applicants have until Feb. 15 to sign up for health insurance. Local health officials said it is best not to wait until last minute to make sure you and your family are covered. “If they go through the process and complete it and are actually able to purchase the premiums, they should feel some relief that they finally have some type of coverage,” said Beth Wells with West Tennessee Healthcare. Those who miss the Feb .15 deadline must wait until the next open enrollment period to sign up and will be fined $325 or 2 percent of yearly income, whichever is higher.
