BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — In Brownsville, city leaders say they’re giving the city’s Crime Stoppers program $3,000. The program allows residents to anonymously report crime, which could lead to big bucks. Police say they want people to know more about the program to encourage a growth of trust and communication with the community. “They will answer the Crime Stoppers line, central dispatch. It’s still an anonymous call,” Capt. Chuck Willis with the Brownsville Police Department said. “They don’t have your information that would be on any other lines that would come in, so it’s still totally anonymous.” Willis urges citizens to call Crime Stoppers at 731-772-CASH (2274) to help stop criminals in their community without worrying about their safety.
