Finney officially in running for mayor as petition is accepted

JACKSON, Tenn. — Lowe Finney is officially in the running for mayor of Jackson, with his petition to appear on the ballot accepted Thursday by the Madison County Election Commission. “Over the last several months, we’ve enjoyed numerous conversations around Jackson with residents who are ready to embrace new leadership and new solutions for the challenges facing our community,” Finney said in a statement. “I am honored to have the support of so many people who’ve come alongside us as we focus on making Jackson the best city it can be.” Campaign finance disclosures from Feb. 2 indicated Finney has more than $170,000 in campaign funds. Finney announced his intention to run for the office last August. The election for mayor and the city council will be May 5.
