SCOTTS HILL, Tenn.– The dogs rescued just a few weeks ago from a hoarders home in Dresden are finally nursed back to health. They are also ready to be adopted. “Throughout the week it was pretty hard working, coming in at 4 a.m. and getting up early and getting down here,” Adrian Page said. Best Chance Rescue originally took in forty dogs. In the course of two weeks they say the number amounted to over fifty when one of the dogs gave birth to more puppies. “With a hoarding case you get to see how quick this happened over a course of 4 years, and these dogs multiply so fast,” Page said. Best Chance Rescue said they had to create a make-shift emergency shelter to help house the dogs. “We played with them, we helped clean them, we walked them a lot and we helped give them water and food,” Zach Lyles, a young volunteer said. The rescue says some of the dogs had worms and other medical issues costing hundreds in veterinarian fees. Nashville Humane Society came to help spade and neuter each dog and took 28 puppies with them. “When its a big event like that with a large number of dogs, people really start to rally and help out in anyway they can,” Page said. The organization said without their help and the community’s help, the major rescue operation would have never been possible.
