State fire marshal urges extra caution during winter storm

NASHVILLE — As weather conditions worsen across the Volunteer State, citizens should be aware of the danger posed by fire. That is the message from the state fire marshal’s office, according to a release from the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. “Brutally cold weather can drastically increase fire risks during what is already a peak season for residential fires,” TDCI Commissioner Julie Mix McPeak says in the release.
