JACKSON, Tenn. — A day after a Madison County grand jury decided no charges were warranted in the shooting death of Cinque D’Jahspora, 20, of Jackson, his family made their first public statement. Just as Tuesday’s Jackson City Council meeting was adjourned, L’Sana D’Jahspora asked for the floor. He claimed the video released by the Jackson Police Department showing views from the front and rear cameras of Officer Raymond Bond’s patrol car had been altered. “The edited video to deceive the public in terms of just exactly how the execution of my son went down by Jackson, Tenn. police” D’Jahspora said. The Jackson Police Department declined to comment on any of the claims made in Tuesday’s meeting. As for those with the D’Jahspora family, they say they are searching for justice. “We will be reaching out to college campuses. And I actually think that we’re going to see Jackson become Ferguson 2.0,” said family spokesman Dr. Randy Short. D’Jahspora also claims the city ignored a public information request submitted in February for video and audio of January’s City Council meeting. The city’s attorney says that isn’t the case. “He asked for copies of the audio-video, and I wrote him back the next day saying here’s the process,” Jackson City Attorney, Lewis Cobb said Tuesday. “The letter was returned a few days ago undeliverable because the address he gave me, the post office doesn’t recognize.” Before ending his about 5 minute speech, D’Jahspora had one last comment for the city council. “Everybody up there who refuses to pursue real justice in this case, that blood is on your hands,” D’Jahspora said.
