How to enroll in USDA Tennessee Emergency Food Assistance Program

HENDERSON, Tenn. — According to the Southwest Human Resources Agency’s website, here is what the Commodity Program means and how you can become a part of it: “The Commodity Program is responsible for receiving, storing and distributing USDA Tennessee Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) available foods to low-income families in Southwest Tennessee. To qualify, the income level must fall under 150% of the poverty scale. A household may also qualify based upon their participation in any of the following programs: TANF, SSI, Food Stamps, Tenn Care, Public Housing or the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. This project if funded under an agreement with the State of Tennessee. Interested applicants should contact their local Community Service Center.
