Man shot by trooper in Brownsville has criminal history

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — New details are now available about the man jailed after being shot by a trooper Monday night in Brownsville. Shawn Brown is in the Haywood County Jail, accused of trying to run over a trooper after being stopped for speeding. According to TBI records, Brown’s criminal history spans more than 17 years, with arrests throughout the area. The charges include burglary, domestic violence and at least 10 counts of driving on a revoked license. His new charges are evading arrest and aggravated assault.
