JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man stands accused of attacking an area police officer with his car. Officers served an arrest warrant for Lewis Timberlake, 21, at the end of February where he was captured in the Casey Jones village area. He previously had run from Lexington police and Chester County authorities on two instances. The week before his arrest, Timberlake fled from Jackson police with a child in the car. The chase reached more than 100 miles per hour. While being apprehended, court papers say Timberlake put his car into drive and tried to hit an officer in an escape. An officer was then pinned by her own car door, suffering minor injuries. Timberlake is being held in lieu of a $75,000 bond and is charged with aggravated assault.
