MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — In the same spot two dead dogs were found Wednesday night by deputies, a third is found dumped along Parkburg Road in south Madison County. “The dogs were badly decomposed, and they look to have been there for quite some time,” Madison County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tom Mapes said. Due to the level of decomposition, the sheriff’s office says it’s unable to determine the dogs’ breed or if they could be connected to previous cases. “I know a lot of people are very concerned about so many dead dogs and animal cruelty lately, and we are seriously looking into this to see if there is any connection involved,” Mapes said. Earlier this week, police say four dogs were found wandering around three dead dogs dumped on the side of an east Jackson road. The sheriff’s office says with what seems like a rise in these cases, they need help finding those responsible. “We depend on the public now to help us and try to move forward from there to find out anything about it,” Mapes said.
