Surprise homecoming for West Tenn. Marine caught on camera

HENDERSON, Tenn. — An emotional reunion for one West Tennessee family is all caught on camera. Jesse Fisher is a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He has been away for more than a year, not being able to see his close-knit family expect for over Skype. But Thursday he surprised them all, including his sister who was celebrating her 19th birthday. “I can’t watch the video without tearing up,” Jesse’s grandmother Charlotte Webb said. “No matter how many times I watch it, I tear up.” It was a surprise like no other. “I just felt like no one was around,” Jesse’s sister, Morgan Fisher said. “I felt like it was just me and him for a second, like it wasn’t real.” Morgan has not seen her brother Jesse in more than a year because he has been stationed in California. But for her 19th birthday, he knew he wanted to do something special. “That part made me really happy,” Morgan said. “That he came home just for my birthday. He didn’t come home for Christmas, but for my birthday.” The heartfelt moment was caught on camera by Jesse’s cousin who helped plan it all. “She talks about him every time we’re together,” Katelynn Partt said. “About him coming home or her going to see him, so it was amazing to see how much love was just between them.” A love their entire family shares. “I just ran over to him and hugged him,” Webb said. “And then I decided I have to turn him loose and let some others get a hug.” And with plenty more hugs to come, Jesse said he feels lucky to share them with the people he loves. “Friends of mind who I’ve made are over in other countries right now, and they can’t come home,” Jesse said. “So being able to come home, it’s just really heartfelt for me.” Jesse will be home for the next 10 days. His family said they will be taking advantage of every second before he ships out back to California.
