Dyersburg tops list for corporate projects

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — The city of Dyersburg now has the distinction of being named the top metro/micropolitan area along the Mississippi River for its number of corporate projects per capita. The city was awarded the Big Muddy Cup for topping the list with 14 corporate facility projects and a population of 38,255, according to Site Selection, which tracks the data and confers the award. Another Tennessee city making the list is Union City, listed as having five corporate facility projects and a population of 37,865. The corporate facility investment project activity was tracked by Site Selection‘s New Plant Database for the 18 months from July 1, 2013, through Dec. 31, 2014, according to the Site Selection website. Projects must have at least $1 million invested, at least 20 new jobs created or at lease 25,000 new square feet of constructed space.
