JACKSON, Tenn. — Students from Madison Academic Excel Club on Tuesday presented a check to the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. The students presented the $1,000 check at the Exchange Club meeting at the DoubleTree Hotel to raise awareness for Child Abuse Awareness Month in April. A group from Madison Academic Magnet High School Excel Club, which has 45 members, organized a Winter Formal for their fellow students. The funds were collected from the attending students at the dance. For Child Abuse Awareness Month, the center is using the theme “Be an everyday hero — help prevent child abuse!”
