MILAN, Tenn. — A man faces drug charges after being arrested following a search of his vehicle at a sobriety checkpoint. Nicholas Anthony Grinols, 30, of New Mexico, was pulled over Saturday after police saw he had a headlight out while passing through a sobriety checkpoint, according to a Milan Police Department report. Police say they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and that Grinols said he had a pipe for smoking marijuana under the driver’s seat, according to the report. Officers then found a plastic bag containing marijuana and another pipe in the center console, the report states. The total weight of the marijuana was 1.22 ounces. Grinols is charged with possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the light law. He is scheduled to appear in court April 8.
