State representative visits McNairy Co. school for autism awareness

McNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — Students at Bethel Springs Elementary School welcomed a special guest Monday to promote autism awareness. Tennessee State representative Leigh Wilburn visited the school to sign a proclamation for Autism Awareness Month. The proclamation is intended to spread awareness of autism. The student body and staff along with county officials attended the ceremony, which was held to promote understanding and acceptance of the disorder that affects one in 68 children from birth.
