DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man went before a Jackson judge Thursday on accusations of assaulting his wife and verbally abusing her because she had not tried to lose weight. Anthony Montreill Floyd’s wife told police the two were lying in bed Tuesday when he was verbally abusive toward her about her not trying to lose weight, according to an affidavit. She told officers Floyd then rolled over on top of her and punched her in the face. The woman then tried to leave the residence, but Floyd took her car keys and cell phone, the document states. Floyd is charged with simple domestic assault. He was issued a $1,000 bond.
